Allyssa Adams is an outgoing and energetic community member who hails from Little Britain. She is a passionate champion for women's participation in civic and community life, and thus plays an active role in her community through multiple roles including the LDCC, Lindsay BIA's Classics on Kent, and the Little Britain Minor Baseball Association where she was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” by the Kawartha Lakes Sports and Recreation Council in 2018 for her work coaching youth girls and volunteering for the LBMBA and VBBA.
Allyssa Graduated from the Social Service Worker program at Fleming College in 2012 with the Indigenous Emphasis Endorsement and holds training in mental health, diversity & inclusion, addictions, youth mentorship and coaching. She has worked in a number of small businesses and not-for-profit organizations across the City of Kawartha Lakes including, CKL United Way, CKL Family Health Team, BGC Kawarthas, Bounce 91.9FM, the Pinnguaq Association and the Pie Eyed Monk/Lindsay Brewing Company.
In her spare time, you're likely to catch Allyssa out walking her dog Beau in beautiful Downtown Lindsay, or exploring the bounty of parks, trails and shops that the City of Kawartha Lakes has to offer.
Charlene was born and raised in the Kawartha Lakes, and raised her family here as well. She worked for 28 years in the transportation sector, and honed her customer service skills working in the food service industry. Charlene found a placement at the LDCC through VCCS. She has completed courses in office administration, Photoshop, and social media. For the past four years, Charlene has proven to be invaluable to the LDCC, taking on the roles of bookkeeper and Administrative Officer.
